Physical Education at Lingham Primary School
At Lingham Primary School our curriculum inspires all pupils to participate, succeed and excel in physical education, sport and competitative activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Competing in sport and other activities builds character and helps to embed values such as fairness, determination, inspiration and respect.
With this purpose in mind, we aim to ensure that all pupils develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities, are physically active for sustained periods of time, can engage in competitive sports and activities and ultimately lead healthy, active lives. We do this through the delivery of the Edsential Scheme of Work, supported by Claremount Specialist Sports College and enhanced with Wirral School Games Competitions and Rugby Tots curriculum support.
We are confident that our chosen curriculum has been produced in response to the Primary National Curriculum for Physical Education (2014). Advice is based on current research and good practice in addition to the requirements outlined in the National Curriculum. The Scheme of Work is aimed primarily at teachers and subject leaders of PE to support the delivery of the new National Curriculum for Physical Education.
