Computing

At Lingham Primary School we want our curriculum to inspire our learners and foster a real love of learning. Through computing, pupils will not only learn to use technology purposefully and effectively, but become aware of the underlying processes involved, helping them to understand how best to apply skills safely and ethically.

Our Computing curriculum aims to equip our pupils with the knowledge, understanding and skills to use information and communication technology responsibly, creatively and purposefully. At Lingham Primary school, we teach Computing with computer science at its heart. We are passionate about ensuring that every child has access to a computing education which helps them to develop knowledge, skills and ‘computational thinking’  to enable them to make informed choices in our ever changing digital world.

Using the three main strands from the national curriculum: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy, we offer a planned programme of Computing education which builds upon previous learning and develops new concepts and approaches whilst teaching pupils how to navigate the online world safely and positively.

At Lingham, we value pupil voice and seek to give pupils opportunities to improve existing programmes, resources and have their say on moving the curriculum forward. The job description of our digital leaders is outlined below:
